All Steamfast brand Home and Away Steam Irons Models SF-717, SF-720, and SF-727 sold between January 2009 and September 2023 are recalled.  In addition, the Brookstone Steam Bug Travel Steam Iron Model 606335 that was produced between 2008 and 2013 is recalled.

 

If you own one of the recalled irons, please stop use and register for the recall on the www.steamfast.com/recalls/travelirons website.

The power cord can become damaged near the cord bushing, which can lead to overheating of the cord, posing fire and burn hazards. In addition, cord damage near the bushing can result in exposed copper wires, posing a shock hazard. Your safety is our first concern, so please stop use, unplug your travel iron and participate in the recall.

All Steamfast Home and Away Steam Irons Models SF-717, SF-720, and SF-727 sold between January 2009 and September 2023 are recalled.  In addition, the Brookstone Steam Bug Travel Steam Iron Model 606335 that was produced between 2008 and 2013 is recalled.

Note: The Steamfast Travel Iron recall that was originally announced in April 2023 was expanded in December 2023 to include all units produced from January 2018 to May 2023.  If you previously determined that your model SF-717, SF-720, or SF-727 travel iron was not part of the original recall, be advised that it is now recalled. Please participate in the recall by registering at www.steamfast.com/recalls/travelirons website for your choice of either a refund (based on average purchase price or valid proof of purchase), or a free replacement steam iron (Steamfast model SF-707) (for US customers only).

No, production has stopped for all of the recalled models.

Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond and other stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com, Steamfast.com and other retailers from January 2009 through September 2023 and Brookstone between 2009 and 2013.

Yes, if you still have your Travel Steam Iron you can participate in the recall. The required photographs of your disabled Travel Steam Iron or your returned Travel Steam Iron will serve as the proof-of-purchase.  Please go to www.steamfast/recalls/travelirons to register for the recall.

First – PLEASE STOP USE IMMEDIATELY AND UNPLUG YOUR TRAVEL IRON.  Register your travel iron on the recall website www.steamfast/recalls/travelirons where you can provide the requested information, learn how to safely disable your travel iron and upload a photo for verification.

Once your registration is complete and verified, you will receive your choice of either a refund (based on average purchase price or valid proof of purchase), or a free replacement steam iron (Steamfast Model SF-707).

Note: For registrations outside of the US, the replacement option is not available.

If you prefer, we can complete the registration process over the telephone by calling the Recall Team toll-free at 866-827-3362 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST Monday through Friday from anywhere in the US and Canada.

For your safety, please immediately stop use and register to participate in the recall.  We understand this is an inconvenience and sincerely apologize.  We aim to provide you with safe and reliable Travel Steam Irons. You are strongly encouraged to register for the recall, so we can quickly provide you with your choice of either a refund (based on average purchase price or valid proof of purchase) or a free replacement steam iron (Steamfast model SF-707).

 

Once your registration is complete and verified, your refund will be issued by check to the name and address provided in the registration within approximately 4-6 weeks. You will be sent the replacement iron to the name and address provided in the registration within approximately 6-8 weeks.

No, but please stop use immediately for your continued safety. As soon as you are able, please complete your recall registration and we will process your recall remedy.

For your safety, we need to confirm that the recalled Travel Steam Iron is no longer operational. Disabling the unit is a requirement of participating in the recall.

Please only disable your Travel Steam Iron if you own a Steamfast Home and Away Steam Iron Models SF-717, SF-720, and SF-727 or the Brookstone Steam Bug Travel Steam Iron Model 606335. Go to the website www.steamfast/recalls/travelsteamirons to confirm your unit is recalled.  Once confirmed, you will be provided directions for disabling your product.

It depends on which recalled model you have.

If you have a recalled Travel Steam Iron: Returning your Travel Steam Iron in order to participate in the recall is not required. In fact, it is faster and easier for you to just provide a photo via the website registration at www.steamfast/recalls/travelsteamirons and click on the “Begin Registration” button to start your registration. Please note, unless you either upload the required photo or send in your Travel Steam Iron, we will not be able to process a refund (based on average purchase price or valid proof of purchase), or a replacement steam iron (Steamfast model SF-707).

If you own more than three recalled travel irons, please call the Recall Team toll-free at 866-827-3362 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST Monday through Friday from anywhere in the US and Canada.  If you have three or fewer travel irons, you can register each one individually on the website www.steamfast/recalls/travelsteamirons.

Yes. Consumers within the United States will be offered the option of a replacement Steamfast SF-707 iron. The SF-717, SF-720 and SF-727 models are no longer being produced.

If you have a valid proof of purchase showing the amount you paid for your travel iron, you will be happily provided with a full refund of your purchase amount. Please call the recall team at 866-827-3362.

Yes, of course you can participate in the recall.

CANADA RESIDENTS: A refund based on average purchase price of your recalled model or valid proof of purchase is the only remedy available.  A refund check in USD will be issued to registered name and address.
